Ash

Founder

Ash Choi, MA, LMHC, PMH-C

Ash founded Tetherhealth.io after years of working in a clinical setting, watching birthing individuals and their support systems (or lack thereof) fall through the cracks of a care system that doesn't know what to do with the perinatal period. Drawing on a tech and counseling background, Ash now focuses full-time on pioneering viable, practical, and accessible solutions to these historical problems in pre- and post-natal care.

Tetherwell™, a first-of-its-kind app featuring a suite of perinatal mental health support tools you won't find elsewhere, and TetherCore™, a clinically informed care infrastructure deployed directly to OB/GYN & midwifery clinics, hospital systems, integrated delivery networks, payers, and more.

The gap we're closing

Perinatal mood & anxiety disorders are the most common complication of pregnancy and postpartum—more than gestational diabetes. Yet, it is the most under-diagnosed and under-treated.

1in5

BIRTHING INDIVIDUALS

experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder during pregnancy or postpartum.

3in5

BIRTHING INDIVIDUALS

who meet criteria for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders do not receive a formal diagnosis. That figure rises to 80% when factoring in  broader cultural and systemic barriers.

Three core beliefs

Why Tetherhealth.io exists.

A significant chapter, under-supported.

The transition to parenthood is one of the most significant chapters of adult life, and the support available rarely reflects that.

You are a human, not a diagnosis.

Existing systems too often treat perinatal struggle as a symptom to manage rather than a human experience worth understanding.

Support should be a referral out.

Standard prenatal care doesn't adequately assess or follow birthing individuals' wellbeing or support availability — both of which directly shape how the perinatal arc unfolds.

“A tether is not a restraint; it’s what keeps us from drifting when everything changes.”

Support that moves with you.

You've labored enough. Let us take it from here.
