About Tether

You were never meant to carry this alone.

Tether is a software company building tetherApp — a suite of tools and a Tether for Business platform designed to close the gaps standard care leaves wide open.

Ash

Founder

Ash Choi

Ash founded Tether after watching parents — including themself, the people they knew, and the people they worked alongside — fall through the cracks of a care system that doesn't know what to do with the perinatal period. Drawing on a counseling background and years inside that gap, Ash now focuses full-time on closing it through software.

That work is tetherApp and Tether for Business: tools built for birthing individuals, non-birthing partners and co-parents, and single parents — across every stretch of the perinatal arc, from active conception planning through the early parenting years — and infrastructure for the organizations that serve them.

The gap we're closing

Perinatal mood & anxiety shifts are the most common complication of pregnancy and postpartum — and they don't only affect the birthing parent.

1in5

Birthing parents

experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder during pregnancy or postpartum.

1in10

Non-birthing partners & co-parents

develop one too — a fact that's rarely talked about, let alone supported.

Three core beliefs

Why Tether exists.

A significant chapter, under-supported.

The transition to parenthood is one of the most significant chapters of adult life, and the support available rarely reflects that.

Experience, not symptom.

Existing systems too often treat perinatal struggle as a symptom to manage rather than a human experience worth understanding.

Support isn't a referral out.

Standard prenatal care doesn't adequately follow parents' wellbeing or social support — both of which directly shape how the perinatal arc unfolds.

"Tether is not a restraint; it's what keeps you from drifting when everything changes."

Support that moves with you.

Tools and a circle that actually show up.
